About the Event

In honor of Black History Month, and in partnership with Common Grounds AAMU, Rocket City Pride brings you our 3rd annual event honoring the  experiences of Black and Queer people in the South. Join us at Shenanigans Comedy Theatre (2650 Leeman Ferry Rd SW, Huntsville, AL 35801) for a community screening of Rustin, a Netflix documentary exploring the life of civil rights leader and advocate, Bayard Rustin. A panel discussion will follow the film to discuss themes from the film and a discussion about the challenges faced by the queer black community today. All are welcome but please RSVP so we can plan accordingly!
