He was born in Nashville, Tennessee and spent the majority of his childhood there, attending elementary and middle school at Lipscomb Academy; however, his eighth grade year, he moved to a small town called Lexington, Tennessee where he lived out the remainder of his high school career at Lexington High School, earning his diploma as part of the Top 10 of his class. As David was attending high school, he was training in classical ballet with the Pat Brown School of Dancing and performed for the company Ballet Arts Inc.. Now, he is a proud student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he involves himself heavily in both academics and extracurriculars. David is studying Psychology, in hopes, to eventually involve himself professionally in the Student Affairs side of Higher Education. His ideal end goal is to make it to the Vice President of Student Affairs. His extracurriculars include being the National Communications Coordinator for the Residence Hall Association, an ambassador for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, a mentor and an ambassador for the Honors College, an Orientation Leader, an employee of the Office of Student Life, the Morale Chair for UAH Dance Marathon, the Director of LGBTQ+ Initiatives for the Diversity and Inclusion Student Alliance, and a member of a few other organizations. As the youngest member of the Rocket City Pride Board of Directors, David hopes to bring fresh and innovative outlooks and ideas to the organization and the Huntsville community, in order to benefit the LGBTQIA+ community and all of its allies. The city of Huntsville has opened its arms to embrace him and nurture him while he attends university, so his goal is to give back to the community as much as possible for as long as he remains here. David cherishes the beauty that the LGBTQIA+ community holds and wants to do everything in his power to shine a spotlight on it to showcase that beauty to those who may struggle to see it at times. At just 19-years-old, David dedicates his time and energy to advocate for all marginalized communities he can to keep the stride for a better and more prosperous future.
In his free time, David enjoys reading young-adult literature and coming-of-age novels (especially queer ones), playing tennis, running, dancing, eating Taco Bell (it’s the best vegan friendly fast food restaurant), and forming new connections with people.
